The fire brigade tried everything: they used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a driver from his vehicle in Ebensee (Upper Austria) on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, the emergency doctor was only able to determine his death after a head-on collision in a tunnel. This continued the black series on the streets of Upper Austria.
The dramatic series on the roads of Upper Austria continues: after three people died in accidents on Tuesday evening (the “Krone” reported), another driver was killed on Tuesday evening.
Lost control
The recent fatal accident in the Bartelkreuz tunnel in Ebensee involved two cars, each with a driver. It is possible that one of the vehicles suddenly lost control over the tunnel wall around 7 p.m. and crashed into oncoming traffic. “This unfortunate event resulted in a serious accident with a trapped person,” the Ebensee fire brigade reported after their operation.
Tunnel chain closed
The head-on collision left a driver trapped in the wreckage of his car. The Florianis freed the man – initially nothing more was known about him – using hydraulic rescue equipment. Unfortunately, the emergency doctor could only determine that he was dead.
The rescue team took the second driver to hospital with emergency medical care. The entire Traunsee tunnel chain was closed to traffic throughout the operation.
