The suspicious Romanian lured a young compatriot to Austria with false job promises – and then used violence and drugs to force her into sex work. Now the handcuffs clicked on the Völkermarkt.
The 33-year-old lured his compatriot to Austria with a supposedly great job in a cheese or cardboard factory, including generous wages. However, when she arrived in Carinthia, the 18-year-old’s dream of a better life was shattered – and she ended up in her personal nightmare instead.
Tortured with deprivation of food
After the suspect confiscated all her documents, the victim was brutally attacked (two teeth were knocked out) and forced into sex work in a brothel on the Völkermarkt. In addition, the 18-year-old was tortured by depriving himself of food, giving him synthetic drugs and becoming docile.
Drugs seized in apartment
After receiving information, the detectives, with the help of officers from the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) and a patrol of assistance dogs, stormed the establishment or an apartment above it and handcuffed the suspected Romanian (33). Approximately 12 grams of the drug crystal meth was also seized. The suspected human trafficker was taken to prison.
