Alice Weidel will now write about “her thoughts, experiences and reflections at the moment” in the “Political Diary” section of the Swiss weekly “Weltwoche”.
The AfD faction has confirmed this. The party wants to nominate Weidel as a candidate for chancellor for the early federal elections on February 23.
The AfD “has hardly any say in the German media, the reporting is extremely one-sided,” says the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, Roger Köppel.
“Stick to principles”
“There are firewalls and contact bans that you have to overcome in democracies,” the former member of the far-right SVP party said in the Swiss parliament. He is impressed that Weidel is sticking to her principles “despite enormous hostility.”
According to the publisher, the sold circulation of ‘Weltwoche’, which has been published for 90 years, will amount to almost 40,000 copies in 2023.
