Rescued unharmed – paraglider “landed” on a 30 meter high larch tree

Date:

A 26-year-old paraglider had imagined this flight in the Zillertal differently, especially the landing. Mayrhofen’s mountain rescue team freed locals from their airy ‘prison’ high in a tree.

The local wanted to fly with her paraglider from the Steinerkogel launch site in Brandberg to the landing site in Mayrhofen on Friday around 12:30 p.m. But the athlete didn’t get that far.

Tie a belt
Presumably due to a knot in one of the parachute lines, the plane pulled to the left and collided with the 30-meter high larch shortly after take-off. The glider and pilot became stuck at a dizzying height of about 25 meters.

Mountain rescuer who loves climbing
The Mayrhofen mountain rescue service was then deployed with nine men. A mountain rescuer climbed – secured – to the woman 25 meters above the ground. He managed to get the uninjured local woman safely to the ground. After two and a half hours the operation was over.
