In Australia, a woman behind the wheel discovered a deadly snake while driving on the highway – and skillfully extricated herself from the situation.
As police announced on Sunday, the woman was traveling on the Monash Freeway in the state of Victoria near the metropolis of Melbourne when she suddenly felt something on her foot. Then she saw a deadly tiger viper crawling up her leg.
In shock
As police further announced, the woman “remarkably” managed to shake off the snake while driving, drive to the shoulder and jump out of the car to safety. The woman was then found barefoot and in shock by police officers. Paramedics then examined her to ensure she had not been bitten. A snake catcher also removed the “huge” snake from the car.
According to the Victorian State Nature Conservation Authority, tiger vipers are among the most venomous snakes in the world. The snakes are about one meter long and respond to danger by raising their bodies and bending their necks and heads. The otters get their name from the stripes on their skin.
