“Do what we say” – German Chancellor on a flying visit to Kiev

Date:

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Kiev on Monday for a surprise visit. “Ukraine can rely on Germany – we say what we do. And we do what we say,” he said.

“To make this clear once again, I traveled to Kiev tonight: by train through a country that has been defending itself against Russia’s war of aggression for more than a thousand days,” he wrote on Twitter.

It is Scholz’s first visit to Ukraine in two and a half years. Upon his arrival, he announced further arms deliveries for defense against Russia worth 650 million euros in December.

“Delivered too little. Always way too late.”
You can read many hateful, sometimes malicious comments about Scholz’s visit to X. One user writes: “Ukraine could not and cannot rely on you. Delivered too little. Always way too late. And now, in collaboration with BSW and AfD, you are stoking German fears to win the elections.”

Another commented: “They took the train. Congratulations. Wow. Churchill must hide in their shadows. God, you’re ashamed.” And someone writes smugly: “Have fun Christmas shopping in Kiev. I can understand you. Unfortunately, Berlin has become far too dangerous.”
