Killer asked judge for drug rehabilitation
The cat killer’s lawyer said his client had written letters to the judge asking for drug and alcohol rehab.
A psychological report confirmed that the suspect was able to follow the trial and participate in her defense.
The crime took place in August but initially went largely unnoticed. It wasn’t until a month later that the case made headlines – first nationally, then worldwide.

Trump was clearly referring to this case, because shortly before that, the gruesome police bodycam images circulated online for the first time. They show the 27-year-old on his hands and knees eating the dead cat as shocked neighbors look on.
A spokesperson for the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office said the American did not have much time to eat the cat as police were immediately alerted. There were traces of blood on the 27-year-old’s feet and hands, and remains of fur were found on her lips.
