Major operation – “alert level 3” activated on farm fire

Twelve fire brigades were called to Wartberg an der Krems (Upper Austria) for a major operation shortly after 6:30 PM on Thursday evening. A farm is on fire, more precisely, they flare up from the attic of the large building. The operation is still ongoing.

Twelve fire brigades came to Wartberg an der Krems in the evening after a fire broke out on the roof of a farm. The flames, which could be seen from a distance, rose several meters high from the roof when first responders arrived.

No injuries
The fire brigade has declared the highest warning level – ‘Alert level 3’ – to get enough emergency responders to the scene. According to the Red Cross, ambulance personnel are on site, but only as a precaution in case something happens during the operation.

So far there have been no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is still unclear and will only be determined by the police once the fire has been extinguished. If there are any further developments, we will keep you informed via krone.at.
