A foul during an ice hockey match on Saturday evening in the Tyrolean Ehrwald (Reutte district) caused the emotions of the two fan camps to boil over. A fight broke out between the groups. So far, seven suspects have been identified and two people have been injured.
Ehrwald versus Mils – that was the duel on the ice. Shortly after 9 p.m., the match suddenly became an afterthought. The main location was the grandstand. A foul apparently made a 51-year-old home team spectator so angry that he got into a verbal fight with the away fans.
The executive had to intervene
But it wasn’t just insults to each other. “The situation escalated,” said the police, who had to intervene. A fight broke out that investigators say involved several fans of the home and visiting teams.
Two injured in fall from stairs
“Two people involved were slightly injured when they fell from a staircase into the stands,” the police continued. So far, seven suspects, all locals, have been identified. Further investigations are underway.
By the way: the visiting team from Mils won the match 6:4.
