The 42-year-old suspect repeatedly revved the engine of his car loudly in the parking lot of a shopping center in Spittal an der Drau on Saturday morning, which enraged a resident who lived not far from the parking lot.
When the 56-year-old finally confronted the driver, the situation escalated completely: the 42-year-old, who was already a well-known civil servant, first threatened the victim with the words “I stab di ob” – whereupon the startled neighbor tried to flee. But the aggressive driver did not allow this: he took his breakdown triangle and brutally hit the 56-year-old with it several times.
Successful search
Only when the injured victim made an emergency call did the attacker let go of him and drove off in his car. But the 42-year-old didn’t get far: he was stopped by police during a house search in the Lieserschlucht area, arrested and taken to Klagenfurt prison.
