Shocking experience for a truck driver and a car driver on Monday afternoon in Pflach in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern. The double wheels of the heavy vehicle came loose while driving and caused an accident. The police must now clarify whether there was sabotage.
A 53-year-old was driving a commercial truck on Federal Road 69 in Pflach on Monday around 3:30 p.m. It happened: Suddenly the left rear double wheels of the vehicle came loose. “They collided with an oncoming car,” police said.
Vehicle severely damaged
The driver – also a 53-year-old – had a breakdown. He was unharmed in the accident. However, his car was badly damaged. The police have started an investigation. The central question is: why did the double wheels come loose? Was it a fatal defect or did someone help? Three of the loose wheel nuts were recovered from the accident scene.
