Looking back after death – This is how Hannes Androsch gave the parties the thumbs up

Date:

SPÖ veteran and industrial colossus Hannes Androsch has died at the age of 86. Most recently, in the autumn of 2024, the former Vice Chancellor and Minister of Finance settled scores with all parties – of course also with the SPÖ – in the “Krone” conversation: there was a lack of “answers and ideas” and we had to “Abandon missionary pipe dreams and ideological castles in the air.”

Hannes Androsch, who lives by choice in Ausseer, invited the “Krone” in mid-October to his typical local country house, not far from the Altaussee, against the picturesque backdrop of the Loser, one of the two “bread mountains” in Ausseerland. However, no ‘fair weather topics’ should be discussed – on the contrary. The conversation became a settlement with federal politics and the image it presents to the outside world.
