Once again an escape attempt from the detention center in Vordernberg, Upper Styria, was successful. A North African climbed over a wall secured with barbed wire but became stuck in a forest.
Four men, probably from North Africa (further details were not yet available), wanted to escape from the detention center in Vordernberg on Wednesday. According to police spokesman Heimo Kohlbacher, three were arrested on the spot and one man managed to get over the barbed wire-protected outer wall.
However, after more than twenty minutes he was caught by the police in the forest; he had suffered minor injuries to his hand. Kohlbacher: “A detention center is not a maximum security prison. Escape is possible when your life is in danger.”
