After article “Krone” – heat pump failure: manufacturer now shows good will

Date:

There was a lot of response to the article “Krone” about the problems that a resident of Flachgau had with the heat pump. His story is not an isolated one. Readers report similar experiences with different manufacturers. In the Flachgau case, the Vaillant company supplied a new device.

“This also happened to us this year. The company refused to repair anything, we even had to buy a new device.” “The manufacturer of our heat pump can no longer be reached at all. There is only one service company in Austria!” Wednesday’s “Krone” article provoked such reactions. Mario Vorhauser from Dorfbeuern spoke to many people with his story.

In his case there is now a solution. “We will receive a new device for free on Thursday. “Finally we no longer have to heat with electricity,” says the owner of the heat pump with relief. Their compressor, which was only three years old, was broken. Vorhauser requested a new one at Vaillant’s expense – and heard nothing from the company for three weeks.

She now apologized and also agreed to make a refund that was still outstanding. The poor customer service is justified by the fact that “there were still open questions that needed to be clarified internally.” The company was silent on whether its compressors were likely to fail after just one-fifth of their typical lifespan. Their products are extensively tested for durability, according to a spokesperson. Vaillant also told the defensive customer that this was a voluntary gesture of goodwill. I think the solution is very good.

Mario Vorhauser must pay the installation costs for the new compressor himself. He says, “If I treated customers like this, I wouldn’t have any customers left.”
