The unemployment rate in the first quarter was 8.44% in the Basque Country and 12.13% in Navarre

In fact, the CAV is the community with the lowest unemployment rate in the state.

For example, Hegoalde ended the first quarter with 126,400 unemployed – 87,100 in the BAC and 39,300 in Navarra – respectively 0.50% and 2.81% more than the previous quarter.

However, if the unemployment data is compared to the the same quarter of 2022the number of unemployed fell by 3,700 (4.04%). The opposite trend is observed in Navarre, as unemployment increased by 5,700 people (16.84%).

by territories, alava take into account an unemployment rate of 6.35%, that of Guipuzkoa is 8.00% and that of Biscay of 9.34%. Compare the data for the Foral community, with an unemployment rate of 12.13%.

In the the whole statethe number of unemployed increased by 103,800 people in the first quarter of the year, to 3,127,800, while the number of employed fell by 11,100 to leave the total at 20,452,800. The state’s unemployment rate was 13.26%.
