Flames poured out of a building in Laßnitz, Styria (Deutschlandsberg district) on Wednesday evening. It is still unclear what caused the large fire, in which five fire brigades had to be deployed. However, the mission proved to be tricky.
Suddenly the workshop next door was on fire! The owner in Laßnitz, Styria, noticed the accident around 10 p.m. on Wednesday evening and immediately alerted the fire brigade. The residents of the house first tried to tame the fire themselves, but were not given a chance. Because even five fire brigades in the area had to deal with the big fire.
60 liters of kerosene stored
And that was a good thing, because in addition to tools and model airplanes, 60 liters of kerosene were also stored in the building. It is still unclear whether the fuel was burned. What exactly should have caused the fire – the district fire detectives are now investigating.
Fortunately no one was injured. Several parked vehicles and a street lamp were hit by the intense heat. Significant property damage may have occurred to the burned down building!
