Car burned out – dangerous: sneeze attack ended on the tunnel wall

Dramatic scenes in the early hours of Sunday morning on the Swiss A3 motorway in the canton of St. Gallen. Shortly before the fourth tunnel, an 18-year-old hit the crash barrier and then the tunnel wall. Within minutes, the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

The 18-year-old man and his two passengers were driving in the right-hand lane of the A3, coming from Zurich, in the direction of Chur early on Sunday morning around 2 a.m. Immediately in front of the tunnel portal, the driver had to sneeze and was distracted as a result.

He hit the right guardrail with his car. The vehicle then skidded and crashed into the right-hand tunnel wall, then stopped in the overtaking lane.

Car completely burned out
Immediately after the accident, the car caught fire and a short time later it was completely engulfed. The three occupants of the car suffered minor injuries in the accident, but were able to get out of the vehicle on their own. The material damage totaled several tens of thousands of euros.
