Due to renewed email bomb threats, some schools in St. Pölten (Lower Austria) will remain closed on Tuesday. As the morning progressed, more and more states across Austria were apparently affected. The bomb threats reached the schools – not surprisingly – by email.
After threatening emails were received at several schools in the capital St. Pölten in Lower Austria on Tuesday evening, classes were canceled in many facilities on Tuesday morning. “Abstract threats” with the same word were received by the school board overnight.
Uncertainty about the number of schools
Chaos was the result, because it was initially unclear which schools were affected. While some quickly informed their parents, for many it overlapped with the route. Many children stayed at home as a precaution.
Four states have already been affected
In Graz, three schools had to be closed again due to threatening emails; School closures are also said to have taken place in Upper Austria and Carinthia. The authorities now have a routine in such cases: the arrangement is reminiscent of the numerous cases of the recent past.
