A tornado in the Netherlands killed one and injured seven others. The hurricane had covered the roofs of several houses in the town of Zierikzee and uprooted trees. The front of a house collapsed.
One person has died in a tornado in the southwest of the Netherlands. According to local media, the dead man was a tourist who was hit on the head by a roof tile in the harbor area of Zierikzee.
One person was taken to hospital with injuries, according to emergency services, while the others were treated at the scene.
Danger from falling roof tiles and branches
“The damage is significant in some streets of Zierikzee,” said the city’s local emergency services. The emergency services are calling on people to stay away from the affected area so as not to hinder the action of the police and firefighters. There is also a risk of falling roof tiles and branches.
