The fire brigades of Kobenz and Knittelfeld had to go on Saturday evening for a difficult operation in Murtal, Styria. Around 1:30 am, a 37-year-old drove his car off the road and ended up in a stream.
It is still unclear why the man lost control of his vehicle on Seckauer Strasse in the municipality of Kobenz. In any case, the consequences were serious: the car overturned and came to rest on its roof in a stream.
The injured were able to free themselves and waited in the stream bed
After the car automatically made an emergency call, a large contingent of emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident. The driver and his 45-year-old passenger were able to free themselves from the wreck and waited in the ditch for help.
Injured people rescued with a ladder
The fire brigade gained access via a ladder and was able to hand over the accident victims to the emergency doctor. They were taken by the Red Cross to the LKH Murtal in Judenburg with injuries of an undetermined nature.
The wreckage was then recovered with a crane and the accident site was cleaned. The operation was ended after an hour and a half.
