A 34-year-old apparently wanted to be particularly clever in Oftering (Upper Austria) on Sunday: After causing an accident while drunk, the driver took his second car and wanted to tow the damaged car away himself. However, witnesses arrested the drunk driver.
The bizarre story started around 4 a.m. on Sunday. A 34-year-old from Wilhering drove his car from Kirchstetten towards Oftering. There he collided with a car parked on the side of the road. The 34-year-old was then thrown from his car into a tree on the other side of the road.
The driver was able to get out and walked away from the accident scene. Only to return shortly afterwards. The 34-year-old picked up his second car and drove back to tow his accident vehicle.
Witnesses watched
However, witnesses noticed the ‘creative’ gentlemen and called the police. A breath test on the 34-year-old showed a slightly less than 1.4 per mille. The alcoholic driver has temporarily lost his driver’s license.
