A serious accident took place on Walchseestrasse in Kössen (Kitzbühel district) on Friday afternoon. A Czech (50) skidded in his car and then crashed into an oncoming car. Five people, including an 11-year-old girl, were seriously injured.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the 50-year-old was on Walchseestrasse from Kössen towards the recycling center. His car skidded around a bend and ended up in the oncoming lane. There he collided with an oncoming car, driven by a 47-year-old woman from the area.
The Czech and his two sons aged 17 and 20, who were also in the car, were seriously injured in the accident. The 47-year-old and her eleven-year-old daughter were also seriously injured. All those involved were taken by ambulance to the St. Johann in Tirol hospital.
Long roadblock
There was significant damage to both vehicles. The Walchseestrasse was closed to all traffic for more than 1.5 hours.
