More details are coming to light after a 31-year-old Nigerian killed a man on Sunday evening and injured several people, some of them seriously, in a knife attack at an asylum seekers’ residence in the German Lake Constance community of Kressbronn. The German police had to move in May because of the man.

The 31-year-old, who is suspected of killing a 38-year-old Syrian and seriously injuring five other people at an asylum seekers’ residence in Kressbronn (Baden-Württemberg) on ​​Sunday evening, is now in custody.

The five injured are four women between the ages of 28 and 34 and a 37-year-old man. According to the German police, one of these people is still in critical health. According to the current state of knowledge, all involved – with one exception – were residents of the asylum seekers’ house in Kressbronner Argenstraße.

The Friedrichshafen Police Department has now set up a 25-strong investigative team to investigate the course of the crime. The persons who were in the accommodation at the time of the crime are interrogated and the secured traces are sent to the National Criminal Investigation Department for evaluation. At the request of the Ravensburg prosecutor’s office, the court also ordered the 38-year-old’s autopsy to clarify the exact circumstances of his death, which will take place on Tuesday.

Riots already in May
As early as May 10 of this year, the suspect is said to have revolted in the same accommodation and threatened residents with a knife. The 31-year-old was taken to a specialist clinic by the police for his unusual behavior. The preliminary investigations that were also started at the time because of the suspicion of threats and material damage have not yet been completed.
