This Monday, the unions and management of Arcelor Mittal reached an agreement agreement for the application of the new Employment Regulations file for economic, technical, organizational or production reasons, as reported by the CCOO and UGT centers in separate statements.
The ERTE will only be applied in case of closure of the facilities, is planned for one year and may affect a total of around 6,600 employees.
That’s where they are based application rates per plantof which the highest are those of Hego Euskal Herria: 40% in Arcelor Mittal AMDS Processing, which has factories in Legasa (Navarra) and Agurain (Álava), 40% in Etxebarri (Bizkaia), 35% in Lesaka (Navarra), 15% in Asturias, 15% in Sagunto (Valencia), 20% in Arcellor Mittal Distribución.
According to the unions, management proposed ERTE because of the decrease in demand both in the steel sector and in distribution, and also before the cenergy costs, CO2 emissions and raw materials.
The committee agreed on the social support measures, as well as on the application aspects and percentages, if approved by the competent labor authority. The file is in effect until December 31, 2025 and increases the 90% of the wage supplement without this affecting extra wages or holidays.
