There were two alpine operations in Mayrhofen in the Tyrolean Zillertal on Monday evening. A couple and a long-distance hiker got stuck in alpine terrain and were unable to move forward due to complete exhaustion. In the end, all three people were brought to the valley unharmed.
Just before 8 p.m. the first company alarm was sounded. A 40-year-old Turk and his German companion (32) were apparently lost in rough terrain near Arbesseitbach. In the end, the walkers, clearly stunned, saw no way out but to make an emergency call. The duo were eventually found by the mountain rescuers and escorted into the valley unharmed.
Exhausted and dehydrated at 2350 meters
Only half an hour later the next alpine operation in Mayrhofen. “During a long-distance hike, a 26-year-old German climbed the so-called Hasenkar at about 2,350 meters above sea level. He was completely exhausted and dehydrated and then also made an emergency call,” the police said.
Fortunately, the young hiker survived the adventure unharmed. He was rescued by the police helicopter and flown into the valley.
