A six-year-old girl was seriously injured by a dog bite in the municipality of Kirchberg ob der Donau. On New Year’s Day around 1:50 p.m., her ten-year-old neighbor was behind the house doing training exercises with her father’s Rottweiler. The six-year-old ran past it.
The dog suddenly targeted the girl’s fur collar and bit her shoulder, upper arm and lower leg. The ten-year-old tried to scare the dog away by yelling at him. She was also bitten by the Rottweiler and slightly injured. The six-year-old suffered serious injuries and was flown by emergency helicopter to Kepler University Hospital.
