According to witnesses, the local man fell at the edge of the piste on a red piste in the Fendels ski area at around 12.40 pm after a climb of about 300 meters. “The man fell about eight meters, hitting his head against a group of trees,” police said.
Psychological support for family members
Eyewitnesses immediately rushed to help, alerted the pister rescue team and began resuscitation measures. But unfortunately all help came too late. The team of the emergency medical helicopter “Martin 8” was also unable to save the 50-year-old and had to stop resuscitation. “The family members were cared for by a crisis intervention team,” the director said.
