Double trouble for a woman from Wels: first the Ford B-Max she had recently bought was lost, and then the car dealer wanted to refund her even less than she was entitled to.
Now the Chamber of Labor (AK) Upper Austria reports on the case: Just a few months after purchasing the used car for 6,990 euros, the warning light suddenly came on: oil pressure too low, stop immediately. The defect was confirmed in the workshop and the car was no longer roadworthy because there was a risk of engine damage.
The woman from Wels therefore wanted to cancel the purchase contract for her Ford. The dealer offered to take the car back from her for 4,500 euros and reimburse the repair costs of 1,000 euros.
Car dealer admitted
The buyback price is calculated based on the kilometers driven and the remaining kilometers – a total of 6,434 euros for the Ford. Because the car dealer did not want to pay, the Chamber of Labor went to court on behalf of the woman from Wels. So the company finally gave in – and had to pay legal fees on top of that.
