A storm front from the southwest brought hail, wind gusts and heavy rain to Salzburg early in the evening on Tuesday. While it remained quiet for emergency services in the city of Salzburg, the fire service had to move to other parts of the country.
“We expect the weather to calm down a bit now. At night, however, heavier rain may fall again,” says the professional Salzburg fire brigade, which has not registered any storm-related operations. The situation was different in Ramingstein in Lungau, where the fire brigade had to intervene in case of a landslide on the B95. No one was injured and the cleanup work was completed quickly.
In Neumarkt am Wallersee, the fire brigade was alerted by a tree that had fallen on the street after a lightning strike. No injuries were reported here either.
In Adnet, the Floriani disciples had to move after a power pole caught fire after a lightning strike. There were no injuries there either.
