After a major search operation that started on Sunday evening, a missing 85-year-old dementia patient was found dead in a forest near Kumberg (Styria) on Monday morning.
The 85-year-old’s daughter reported her father, who suffered from dementia, missing on Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m. Emergency services then started a large-scale search. The search involved both police dogs and drones. The search for the 85-year-old continued without success until about 1:30 am on Sunday night.
Found lifeless in a forest
The search continued on Monday morning and the 85-year-old was found in a forest around 9am. Rescue measures and resuscitation immediately initiated were negative. Based on the current state of the investigation, negligence on the part of third parties can be excluded.
