A 35-year-old crossed the track in Ludersdorf-Wilfersdorf (Weiz district) despite the red light on Thursday. By good luck, the car was hit only from the rear, leaving the driver with an unknown degree of injury.
On Thursday afternoon, an accident between a train and a car ended only slightly. A 35-year-old woman from Graz wanted to cross the railway crossing at Ludersdorf-Wilfersdorf and, according to her own statements, missed the red traffic light due to the low sun. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw the regional train approaching and quickly accelerated.
In the meantime, the driver applied emergency braking. This prevented something even worse, although the rear of the car was hit and thrown into the pasture. When emergency services arrived, the driver responded and was taken to the Weiz LKH with injuries of an undetermined nature. The twelve passengers and the 59-year-old driver of the regional train were unharmed.
