Seven people have died in an apartment on Mexico’s east coast. It involved a minor, three women and three men, the Attorney General of the state of Veracruz announced on Twitter on Monday.
The crime happened at night (local time) in the town of Boca del Río. Initially there was no further information about the course of events and the background. According to media reports, the victims who were shot all belonged to the same family.
Crimes are rarely solved
Since the North American state began militarily waging the so-called drug war in 2006, the spiral of violence has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. The murder rate per inhabitant was recently about 100 times higher there than in Germany. More than 100,000 people are said to have disappeared in Mexico. About 98 percent of crimes remain unsolved.
