Elon Musk is increasingly turning his attention to Europe – and sometimes also to Austria. On Friday evening he shared a post about the case of Anna, the twelve-year-old girl who had been abused by a gang of young people for months and where the second acquittal recently took place out of doubt.
“This is insane,” Musk wrote on user Dr.’s post. Maalouf, which has already been commented on thousands of times and shared even more. The “likes” for the post are skyrocketing every second – even if not all the details in the post are true.
The “Anna case” also caused enormous consternation and misunderstanding in Austria. For months, 17 boys between the ages of 13 and 19 – most of them of Arab descent – allegedly sexually abused the then 12-year-old in Vienna-Favoriten, and the girl was passed from one to the other. The actions also took place in a parking garage near the central station.
The perpetrators will likely go unpunished
But the atrocities are likely to go unpunished, as just this week the second defendant was acquitted of doubt. The reason: the violence necessary for a rape conviction could not be proven. A 16-year-old was acquitted in December.
Anna’s mother, who received 100 euros from the 17-year-old as ‘compensation’, also calls it ‘another scandalous verdict’. “My daughter’s no means so little to him,” the mother told “Krone” about the defendant’s humiliating behavior.

Austria has already been included in the Musk universe once
Musk recently caused a stir with a live conversation with AfD leader Alice Weidel – the German Bundestag is investigating whether he interfered in the German election campaign. Austria had already appeared once in the Musk universe before the post about the ‘Anna case’: At the end of October, Musk retweeted a post by right-wing extremist British activist Peter Zweden, who was known in the past as a Holocaust denier, among others.
In it, Sweden criticized Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen for not instructing the Freedom Party to form a government. “The hypocrisy of the dictatorial left that pretends to defend democracy, when in reality they are against it!”, Musk responded to the post. A criticism that FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl was happy with at the time: “Elon Musk comments on the fact that the federal president, contrary to all democratic customs, ignores the election results and wants to give the clear election loser the robbers’ ladder to the chancellorship.” Now Kickl himself is on the verge of this entry into the chancellery. A circumstance that will probably please Musk.
