Wanted to go to the countryside – countless advertisements: 133 illegal immigrants on the Tyrolean train

Date:

Officials from the Tyrolean police and army had their hands full at Landeck/Zams train station on Wednesday. 138 strangers had to be checked. Countless reports and arrests rained down.

On a train to Vorarlberg, many people behaved extremely aggressively. At around 9:30 am, the train conductor then ordered an unplanned stop. He also called the officers. They probably weren’t very surprised. Because they were able to identify 138 foreign nationals from Afghanistan, Syria and North Africa.

They were all subjected to an immigration police on the spot. The ten police patrols, including the service dog patrol, were supported by a task force from Vorarlberg and the military.

109 reports, 24 people arrested
The result: 24 people were without papers and were promptly taken to the detention center in Plon. Another 109 foreign nationals were in possession of a green procedure card and thus had an area restriction. Although they were reported, they were allowed to continue their journey. Only five persons had a white procedure card and thus legally resided in Germany. They too were allowed to continue their journey to the Ländle.

A police spokesman said such a large-scale operation “has not existed for a long time”.
