Due to terrorist threats against Viennese balls circulating on the Internet, this year’s “Viennese ball season” will be accompanied by numerous police measures that will help minimize the risk of specific threats – the police announced on Wednesday.
“The LSE (State Office for State Protection and Combating Extremism) has developed standardized procedures and processes for all major events in the federal capital, which are already in use and are also used at major ball events,” Vienna police said.
The second highest level of terror alert has existed in Austria for a long time. The police therefore pays special attention to all large and important events.
