They seemed cheerful and in good spirits – this is how the twin sisters’ brother, who had been missing for a week and whom he had last spoken to by telephone on New Year’s Eve, described it. The case raises questions: just a week earlier, the two had given up their apartment, as the family discovered afterwards.
The Scottish police no longer know: the officers have been looking for the twin sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti for a week. The two have been reported missing since last Tuesday and have disappeared without a trace for unknown reasons.
The last song shows shots on the river
Ten years ago, the almost identical-looking sisters moved to Scotland together. The third sister stayed behind in Hungary. After the two had not contacted the family for days, they alerted the Scottish police.
The last shot of the two shows the twins at two in the morning on a road along the River Dee. Despite the intensive search, any trace of the two is missing. One police theory so far is that they “entered the water for unknown reasons,” police officer David Howieson explains. For this reason the search is mainly focused on the river and the harbor of Aberdeen.
Sisters showed ‘atypical behavior’.
The police have so far ruled out an act of violence. Howieson said there is “no evidence of crime or suspicious circumstances.” However, the sisters behaved ‘completely strangely’ on the night of their disappearance. The police did not want to elaborate on what behavior deviated from the usual working method. Perhaps it was the lateness of the sisters’ absence, or a route home that did not follow a logical route.
The twin sisters’ brother told the BBC that he last spoke to his sisters on the phone on New Year’s Day. On the phone they sounded cheerful and carefree. Only later did the family find out that the sisters had previously terminated their lease. The family is now launching a search in the British and Hungarian media, asking for information about the missing sisters.
