Arriach in Carinthia is still cut off from the outside world. The crisis team met on Thursday morning: security of supply has been given. Helicopter delivers vital oxygen.
The crisis team met on Thursday morning in the municipality of Arriach. Mayor Gerald Ebner: “We assess the situation three to four times a day. The next crisis team is at 1:00 PM, with the district captain and all the other key players.”
Power is restored
By evening, most of the community should be reconnected to the grid. The emergency services have now also succeeded in building two connecting roads to the outside world. “Rescue vehicles can drive to our community via Himmelberg. At the moment, only tractors are allowed to drive on the other road,” says the mayor.
Vital oxygen comes with heli
On Thursday morning, a military helicopter was supposed to take off for Arriach. A patient in the community urgently needed oxygen.
Local suppliers are provided with emergency power
The only local supplier in Arriach is powered by an emergency generator. If citizens need help, we ask you to contact the volunteer fire brigade via the alarm and warning center at number 122′, the municipality tells the ‘Krone’.
Donation account set up
As the mayor reports on the phone, numerous homes have been destroyed by the storm. That is why the Center Arriach association has set up a donation account: IBAN AT13 3938 1004 0031 7446, Raiffeisenbank Landskron-Gegendtal.
