Fire alarm on Wednesday in the early morning hours in Sölden in the Tyrolean Ötztal: a carport suddenly caught fire. The sound of the fire literally woke a neighbor from his sleep. He immediately raised the alarm. Dozens of emergency services arrived.
Shortly before 4:30 a.m. the fire broke out in the area of the carport, which is apparently adjacent to a tool shed and workshop. “A neighbor woke up to noises. When he looked out the window, he saw the flames and made an emergency call,” a police spokesperson told the “Krone”.
More than 60 firefighters on site
The emergency services were quickly on the scene and fought the fire. In total, more than 60 people from the volunteer fire brigades Sölden, Gurgl and Vent were on site.
The car and Hoftrac were also damaged
Fortunately, no one was injured, the police spokesperson said. But the damage is significant. In addition to the building, two vehicles – a car and a Hoftrac – and various inventory were also damaged.
The exact cause of the fire is still completely unclear. The police started a corresponding investigation.
