And suddenly it was dark: on the night of Friday a driver in Wels (Upper Austria) collided with a powerbox. Then the lights went out on the entire street. The steering wheel parked his damaged vehicle and walked out of the dust. Until now, the police have tried in vain to find him.
Many residents around Welser Albrechtstraße will already have been slack deep and firmly, but some night schools had surprised why at 0.25 hours on Friday the street lighting suddenly failed in the surrounding streets.
Different streets dark
A driver was the culprit. He had traveled to the west when he suddenly came to the left of the road and collided with a switch cabinet there that controls the lighting throughout the area. This was torn from the anchorage and badly damaged – which of course had also overwritten the street lamps.
Car parked and cut off
The steering wheel probably noticed that his vehicle had also caused serious damage. So he parked the car about a hundred meters further on the side of the road, pulled out the keys and went out of the dust.
Electrician
The steering wheel was quickly investigated on the basis of the license plate. However, the officials did not find what they were looking for his home address. The Wels e-work was also warned to switch off the electricity. Otherwise the loose cables would have suffered a danger for passers -by -through. The work continued at least until Friday afternoon.
