A tourist was killed by an elephant in the famous Krüger National Park in South Africa. The animal had trampled the man to death, the National Park government said on Sunday.
Information on the exact circumstances of the incident would be “announced in due course,” it said. The administration asked other visitors not to publish photos or videos of the “tragic accident” online.
The park covers 20,000 square kilometers and is therefore the largest Safari Park in South Africa. In 2021, a suspected poacher was trampled to death by an elephant. Visitors to the park are therefore advised to always stay in their car outside the camps and rest areas.
