Hamas and UN: – 300,000 people are back to North Gaza

Date:

On Monday, the first day of the return for residents of the Gaza Strip north of the destroyed coastal area, around 300,000 people have already arrived there, according to the Media Office of the Islamist Hamas.

They were driven out in the south of the sealed area in the course of the war for more than 15 months. They usually lived there in improvised tent camps. The Hamas information could not initially be checked independently.

However, the United Nations also spoke of “hundreds of thousands” on platform X, which returned to the north of the Gaza Strip. Videos on social media showed miles of snakes from people who walked north on foot via a designated route along the sea. If you had a car, you had to pass a control point in the interior.

It is said that a total of 600,000 people return
It is expected that the number of returners in the heavily destroyed north will increase to around 600,000 in the coming days, it continued to say from the Hamas Media Office. In general, more than two million people live in the Gaza Strip.

As part of an agreement on a cessation -the fires between Israel and Hamas, it was originally planned that people were allowed to return to the north a week after the end of the fighting.

However, since Hamas did not release a German-Israeli citizen on Saturday as agreed, Israel blocked the return. Then there was an agreement about the release, Jerusalem gave the green light to return the inhabitants of Gaza.
