The series of avalanches never ends in Tyrol on Wednesday afternoon: shortly after 2 p.m., snow varieties detached in the area of a black slope in the WinterSportresort of Ischgl. According to the first reports there was burial – eventually a person could be released.
Around 2.15 pm the Tyrol Control Center reported the Avalanche output in Ischgl in the Landeck district. It is said that two winter athletes were buried, it was initially said. In the end it turned out that there was apparently only a partially showered person. This has now been released. So far, nothing is known about their condition.
The Mountain Rescue Company, Avalanche Dog Handler and the emergency helicopters Christophorus 5 and Robin 3 and the police helicopter Libelle Tirol were alerted. The Avalanche output may have occurred on the open site. Not for the first time that day!
Avalanches demanded emergency services
A few avalanches had already left Tyrol in the morning. The use on the Hintertux glacier was particularly dramatic, where the crew of the emergency helicopter Alpin 5 could surf a spilled. After resuscitation, the man – probably a German – was flown to the Innsbruck clinic. His condition was extremely critical, it said.
An avalanche output in Nauders (Landeck District) ended light. A skier was shaken and could free himself. However, there was a false alarm in Hochgurgl. A mission was demolished there because there was a single and an exit track with the avalanche. It was a false alarm, nobody was buried.
Great avalanche hazard on the mountains
After sometimes huge amounts of fresh snow on Tuesday, the avalanche danger on the mountains in large parts of Tyrol has increased enormously. There is a common warning level 4 of the 5.
