Six people were injured in an explosion in the ammunition factory of a Rheinmetall daughter in Spain, one of them seriously.
The explosion took place on Thursday in the Javalí Viejo industrial area in the southeastern region of Murcia, said local emergency services on X.
As a result, six men between the ages of 30 and 52 were treated for skull injuries, burns and smoking poisoning.
According to the information, five injuries were admitted to hospitals in the nearby regional capital Murcia, the sixth injured person was treated on the spot.
According to the emergency services, the place of the explosion was a work by Rheinmetall Expal Expal Amunition, a Spanish daughter of the German armor group Rheinmetall. The explosion cause was initially unclear.
A year ago, two employees of the work had been burned in an incident.
