The fire brigades of Kapfenberg-Stadt, Kapfenberg-Diemlach and Kapfenberg-Hafendorf were alerted shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday for a fire service in the Kapfenberg district of Redfeld (Styria).
A kitchen fire broke out in an apartment building for unknown reasons. The Kapfenberg-Stadt fire brigade, which arrived first, took the owner of the apartment outside and handed him over to the Red Cross with unknown injuries. The respiratory protection team of the Kapfenberg-Stadt fire brigade then carried out the firefighting in the apartment.
The other tenants of the building were also led outside by other respiratory protection teams.
Both the apartment and the stairwell were eventually made smoke-free with a pressure aerator after the “fire out” was given. In addition, the kitchen was checked for other embers with a thermal imaging camera.
The fire brigades of Kapfenberg-Stadt, Kapfenberg-Hafendorf and Kapfenberg-Diemlach were deployed with a total of nine vehicles. Furthermore, the management and the Red Cross were on site, who transported four people to the hospital.
