The police in Vienna-Landstrasse were warned on Friday evening after a man (49) tried to kill his ex-girlfriend (53) with a gun. The officers could only prevent worse.
The suspect (49) called his ex-girlfriend around midnight in the apartment and threatened to shoot her with a gun. The woman then immediately warned the police.
In the stairs, the alarmed police officers met the armed man. When he saw the officials, he suddenly focused on her with his little caliber rifle.
Wega moved
In order not to let the situation escalate, the officials withdrew. Moments later, police officers arrived in the special unit of Wega. They asked him loudly to drop the weapon. The man did not comply with this request, but now aimed at the Wega officials.
Shots handed out
Only after the Wega officials had taken photos of the very dangerous man, did he drop his gun. The suspect defended himself in the arrest and became aggressive towards the officials. The small gun -that was loaded, was guaranteed.
After the arrest, the suspect was taken to the hospital with a bleeding wound on the hip.
