Europeans drink the most alcohol
In no other region in the world is as much drunk alcohol as in the European region. Seven out of ten countries in the world with the highest consumption are therefore in the EU, including Germany with a value of 12.2 liters of pure alcohol.
800,000 dead per year in Europe
The WHO warns that this is accompanied by considerable health risks. Accordingly, 800,000 people die in the WHO region of Europe every year of alcohol-related causes this is almost 2,200 people a day. Although cancer is the most common cause of death, the public consciousness of the relationship between alcohol and cancer is still frightening, the WHO Europe complained.
