In thousands of households in the Greater Zirl area (Innsbruck-Land District) the lights went out against lunch on Saturday. A high voltage line was damaged – the power connection was cut in six municipalities. A ski area was also hit.
The power failure was caused by woodwork at Oberperfuss. A high voltage line was damaged there. The electricity was around 7,000 households against lunch.
It took about 45 minutes for the damage to be remedied. About 70 stations were struck in the Zirl, Oberperfuss, Ranking, Inzing, Kills and Sellrain communities. The lifts are also said that they have still been in the ranger Köpfl -ski area.
