150 young students from Vietnam started training this week as a nursing assistant in Krems. This is financed from tax money. Because they have to be used in household care institutions as finished specialists. Not everyone likes this: the Spö now mobilizes against this recruitment in the Far East.
Spö politicians are a thorn in the side of the fact that nurses from Vietnam have to take over the elderly in institutions of Lower Austria. Roman Hebenstreit, chairman of the Vida Union and State Party Leader Sven Hergovich, criticize the millions for the training of guest workers in the Far East: “It is absurd to import unskilled nurses from Vietnam to train them here, while many people in Austria Waiting for training options. “
Land has released millions
This week the first of 150 Vietnamese students started the courses for nursing assistance at the University of Applied Sciences in Krems. The country has provided 4.2 million euros for this. “This money should be better invested in unemployed young people, transversal and returns,” requires Hebenstreit. And for Herdovich it is urgent that the working conditions in the nursing sector have improved: “The current circumstances such as low wages and poor working hours are domestic interested parties.”
High need for nurses
The ÖVP defends the training of foreign nurses. “All experts say that we can not only meet the personnel requirements in Austria,” emphasizes social spokesman Anton Erber. And if you have to recruit candidates for this responsible job abroad, it would be better to “be trained according to recognized institutions according to Austrian standards”.
