A surface fire broke out on Tuesday during sharp shooting with light -pouring ammunition in the Ortnerhof -Schietbaan near St. Michael (Styria). As the military command announced in a broadcast, the flames quickly spread in an area of approximately 2000 square meters.
Because the soldiers did not get fire to the existing funds, helicopters of the army and the Ministry of the Interior were called according to the military command. Various fire brigades also had service.
In the afternoon it was said that the fire was under control and would soon be completely removed. Nobody was injured. A spokesperson for the army was clearly identified as the cause, the light ammunition, which was fired around 11.30 am.
Similar incidents 2021 and 2019
