Had High Fever – Recruit after suspicion of meningitis

Date:

The 21-year-old was treated last week with a very high fever in the Landstrasse clinic in Vienna. There was suspicion of meningitis, also called meningitis. On Monday came the sad news that he lost the fight to survive.

After a short -term improvement, however, the state of the Burgenlander deteriorated quickly and had to be taken care of. In the early afternoon the recruit was moved to the Floridsdorf clinic and then to the Landstrasse Clinic in a Comatural state.

There was also suspicion of meningitis caused by meningococci. It has now been confirmed that the 21-year-old died in the hospital.

The Recruit would apparently not have used to enter the supply for vaccinations and refreshments of vaccination – even against meningococci.

No further case of meningitis
In recent weeks, no other case of inflammation of the brain had taken place in the ranks of the federal army, military circles were said that the infection had probably taken place outside. Apparently there has been no such disease in the army for several years.
